Newtown Massacre

When reports started coming in about the Newtown school shootings in Connecticut, I was on the road in West Virginia.  I just finished a counseling session for a group of WV companies and had lunch with J.P., a colleague from Commerce.

When I got back to my hotel, I was going to change and head over to the Arlington Cemetery to pay my respects to an Army man I once knew.  Then the President gave his speech about the Newtown shootings and I cried myself to sleep.

Needless to say, I was very happy to return to my family and give them a hug.

Over the next several days, amidst my daily work, I thought about that school shooting. To me, the shooting of children was a clear mark of evil. The sacrifice of teachers for the sake of their students was a mark of God. I felt helpless to react. So, I prayed. I prayed for the souls of those who were shot; I even prayed for the soul of the gunman. Yes, he was responsible for the atrocious act, but he was also a victim of Satan.

Where sin exists, grace abounds more.
