Dear God,
I volunteered at a homeless shelter, today. Thank you, Lord, for the grace and strength – I needed them because I’m so tired from my return trip to Korea. Thank you, Holy Spirit, for giving me additional energy afterwards to run 2.5 miles. I believe I will sleep well, tonight.
I found this lovely prayer for homeless people on another blog:
Hear our prayer today for all women and men, boys and girls who are homeless this day.
For those sleeping under bridges, on park benches, in doorways or bus stations.
For those who can only find shelter for the night but must wander in the daytime.
For families broken because they could not afford to pay the rent.
For those who have no relatives or friends who can take them in.
For those who have no place to keep possessions that remind them who they are.
For those who are afraid and hopeless.
For those who have been betrayed by our social safety net.
For all these people, we pray that you will provide shelter, security and hope.
We pray for those of us with warm houses and comfortable beds that we not be lulled into complacency and forgetfulness. Jesus, help us to see your face in the eyes of every homeless person we meet so that we may be empowered through word and deed, and through the political means we have, to bring justice and peace to those who are homeless. Amen.
I found another beautiful prayer from this blog:
Bless the homeless, this day and everyday, keep them from physical and emotional harm, fill their hearts with hope for the future and for today, comfort the homeless as they walk their difficult paths. May I know that anyone, even me, can be homeless.
Bless the homeless with enough food to sustain them, with enough warmth to shield them from the elements, with the power to wrestle personal demons and win, with the will to go on, and build their lives again.
May hope touch each homeless heart, spirit and life, let the kindness of others bring lasting benefits, bring freedom from addiction, illness and misery, open their humanity to include & embrace themselves.
Bless the homeless with self acceptance and love, spark their imaginations with belief in the future, bringing the possibility of a better life, a safer life and a more secure life.
God, thank you for the opportunity to be charitable to others. Bless the other volunteers who were there tonight, and bless the people who work at the homeless shelter. Bless the 350 beds that are available these men without a home. Bless the people who provided the money to make this possible.
I humbly pray, through Christ, Our Lord. Amen.
It can feel overwhelming to be one person, trying to save the world. Instead, I am trying to help one person. I keep gallon ziplocs in my car, loaded with snacks, socks, water, a prayer and a $5 bill. If I see someone on the road, I can just roll down my window and give it to them. It is not fixing the problem, but for that person, for that minute, I am doing the only thing I know how to help. Small ideas can lead to big change. We just have to get started and God will lead us to the rest.
Father in the Name of YESHUA I pray for those who are homeless at this time Oh God my Father ,let this be a time for them to discover you as YOU are coming to their rescue in your might .Yes FATHER you have created the earth and all homes ,houses ,building belongs to you .I pray for those that are without a shelter ,Father supernaturally provide for them in the name above all names YESHUA ;
Father I also pray for rent money for your children and pray that you help me and those in need to find a home .
Let the perfect home come to us in a wonderful way and let it be paid for and affordable .
You are a awesome God and I praise you forever more because You have heard us and answered already .
AMEN IT IS DONE !

I volunteer at our local Homeless shelter. I came across the Prayer for the Homeless that begins “Bless the homeless, this day and everyday, Keep them from physical and emotional harm, Fill their hearts with hope for the future and for today, Comfort the homeless as they walk their difficult paths. May I know that anyone, even me, can be homeless?”
Our local Greater Williamsburg Outreach Mission (GWOM) would like to adopt this prayer and use it on our website. Is this copyrighted? Would we be able to use it?
It’s not copyrighted. Please feel free to use. God bless you.
, this bout of homelessness ,since Easter, is not easy by any stretch of the imagination , what with being punched in the head on 2 separate occasions and punched in the neck
God have mercy on my poor soul
Dear David Scott,
I pray that you are doing well, now. God bless you and may Saint Teresa of Calcutta pray & watch over you.
After looking for work for a long time, I found myself broke and homeless. I am an immigrant, woman of color with no family or friends to help. I came here and got my master’s degree but I had no luck finding a job in the Bay Area. Being homeless was the sum of all my fears and here I am in this situation. Right now ,I am sitting at a 24hs Starbucks not knowing what I can do. There is a 3 weeks waiting list in a shelter. I am a woman and I am just afraid to be raped or assaulted. I want to work, be productive and have a home. Please pray that I get my life back again. Work, home and dignity.
What a difficult situation… We will be praying for you. May God, through the intercession of Our Lady, bring you quick relief.
