Love is impractical

A relationship is difficult. A long-distance relationship borders on impossible. Time, effort, patience, doubt and emotional strain in maintaining the relationship is magnified. It requires a focus on communication that constantly tests one’s ability.

So, then why am I in one? Clearly the obstacles make long-distance relationships impractical. Yet, a person shouldn’t stay in relationship because it’s practical. There may be practical considerations before entering one, but to stay…. He/She should stay in one for love. And, love IS impractical. Love doesn’t make life more efficient. It disrupts our routines, challenges our behavior, and complicates what is already complex.
