Father most holy, merciful and tender;
Jesus our Savior, with the Father reigning;
Spirit all kindly, Advocate, Defender,
Light never ending;

Trinity sacred, Unity unshaken;
Deity perfect, giving and forgiving,
Light of the angels, Life of the forsaken,
Hope of the living;

Maker of all things, all Thy creatures praise Thee;
Lo, all things serve Thee through Thy whole creation:
Hear us, Almighty, hear us as we raise Thee
Heart’s adoration.

To the all ruling triune God be glory:
Highest and greatest, help Thou our endeavor;
We, too, would praise Thee, giving honor worthy
Now and forever. Amen.

God, you are the source of all holiness.  Though no one can see you and live, you give life most generously, and in an even greater way restore it.  Sanctify your priests through your life-giving Word, and consecrate your people in his blood until our eyes see your face.

So that your people may walk in innocence, you came to us, Lord Jesus, and told us to be holy as your Father is holy.  Help your children to love what is truly perfect, so that we may neither speak what is evil nor do what is wrong.  Let us stand in your sight and celebrate with you the Father’s love and justice.

Redeemer of the world, give us a greater share of your passion through a deeper spirit of repentance, so that we may share the glory of your resurrection.  Sanctify your people, redeemed by your blood.

My good and dear Jesus, I kneel before you, asking you most earnestly to engrave upon my heart a deep and lively faith, hope, and charity, with true repentance for my sins, and a firm resolve to make amends.  As I reflect upon your five wounds, and dwell upon them with deep compassion and grief, I recall, good Jesus, the words the prophet David spoke long ago concerning yourself: “They have pierced my hands and my feet; they have counted all my bones!”
