War in Iraq is Over

I heard on NPR this morning that the war is over. I read on the front page of the LA times that U.S. and Allied troops have entered Baghdad and the command authority of Hussein’s regime is effectively over. Three weeks. In three weeks, the U.S., British and Austrailian forces have managed to topple a government and summarily neuter its military. The task is far from over. Apparently, the north still needs to be captured. Over two-hundred thousand troops are scheduled to enter Iraq to restore civilian order.

This is a chapter in the history books in the making.
